Anthony Pagliarulo Racing
On August 29th, the NELCAR Legends Tour went up to Wiscasset Raceway for the tours second event of the year at the track. Thirteen legend cars made the trip to the Wiscasset track for the event. In practice we felt that we had a pretty strong car. We got faster each practice after little changes were being made to the car. Wiscasset is a track that we have never had much luck at, so we were happy to have a car that seemed fast. For the heat race, Anthony started on the pole. He fell back to the fifth spot, but ended up finishing in the fourth postion out of six cars in the heat race.
After a slightly disappointing heat race, we were hoping for a much better feature race. Once again, Anthony started on the pole. This time Anthony was able to pull out to a slight lead. Anthony lead a number of laps before the 72 of Kevin Hutchens was able to get around. Anthony stayed right with Hutchens, but was just never able to get close enough to make a move for the lead again. Anthony ended up finishing the race in the second position.
After what has been a rough season so far, the team is extremely happy about the second place finish at Wiscasset. Our next race is the National Qualifier Event at the Beech Ridge Motor Speedway. It should be a great show with some southern invaders coming to Maine to try and qualify for the nationals!
